The San Luis Obispo Blues (12-5 overall, 9-5 CCL) trailed by 5 runs at one point to Team Vegas, but scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to tie the ballgame, and then one in the 6th to pull out a 8-7 victory.
In that 5th inning, Tanner Witt had an RBI single and both Chad Christensen and Tanner Witt had doubles that knocked in 2 runs apiece. In the 6th inning, Alex Detz had the go ahead RBI with a sacrifice fly, completing the Blues come from behind victory.
Sean Yost pitched well to start the game off for the Blues, pitching 3 innings and allowing 3 runs. Joshua Dexheimer (1-0) picked up his first win of the season in relief, pitching 3.1 strong innings and allowing 3 runs. Harmen Sidhu (1) earned his first save of the season by pitching 2.2 innings and allowing no runs.
Offensively, the Blues were lead by 4 batters that earned 2 RBI's each. Third baseman Tanner Witt went 2 for 5 and also scored 2 runs. 2nd baseman Alex Detz went 2 for 5, 1st baseman Wade Hinkle went 1-3 with a walk, and designated hitter Chad Christensen also had 2 hits.
The Blues play Team Vegas again tomorrow for the rubber match of the 3 game series. The game starts at 6 pm, and the gates will open at 5.
