SLO BLUES 6 v. OC PIONEERS 7 - 13 Innings
The SLO Blues (22-9 overall, 14-8 CCL) dropped a 13 inning game to the Orange County Pioneers (15-12, 13-11) 7-6 on Saturday night. The Pioneers won the game in the bottom of the 13th inning with a walk off bunt.
Relief pitcher Kyle Martin (0-1) was the tough luck loser after he pitched the last 4.1 innings of the contest, allowing just one run on one hit and striking out 9. Starting pitcher Travis Huber struck out 7 over a solid 5 innings pitched.
Offensively, the Blues were lead by Jo Jo Sharrar, who went 3-5 with a run scored. Dylan Gavin and Tanner Witt batted in runs for the Blues, and Austin Flores went 2-3 with a run scored.
The Blues play again Monday night at Sinsheimer Stadium against the SMV Packers at 6 pm. The gates open at 5
In Saturday afternoon's game between the SF Seals and the Menlo Park Legends, the Legends beat the Seals 12-2.
The Rawlings California Cup continues tomorrow with the Championship games in Santa Barbara. The Menlo Park Legends Win The SLO Bracket (3-0), and will face the Santa Barbara Foresters. The OC Pioneera finished (2-1), the Blues finish (1-2), and the Seals finish (0-3) in SLO Bracket play.
