SLO BLUES 7 @ Conejo Oaks 8 - 10 Innings

The SLO Blues (23-10, 14-9) tied with the Conejo Oaks (17-14, 10-13 CCL) on Friday night with a score of 7-7. The game was called due to darkness and will be completed on Sunday at 1pm.
The Blues started strong, scoring first on four singles in the first inning, but the Oaks came back in the bottom of the first inning to go ahead 2-1. In the top of the third inning, SS Adam Frazier scored after a single up the middle, a hit and run single by 2B Alex Detz, and an RBI single by 3B Dylan Gavin. Gavin and Detz both scored on a double down the left field line by 1B Zac Elgie. Elgie then scored on an error by 1B, making the score 5-2 at the end of the inning.
The Oaks scored one run in the bottom of the 7th and three runs in the bottom of the 8th to take the lead 7-5, but the Blues battled back in the top of the 9th. LF Sal Belfonte led off with a single to left field, and Frazier followed that with a walk. Both Belfonte and Frazier scored on a sacrifice bunt by Detz, who advanced to third on the play on an error. At the end of 9 innings, the score was tied 7-7.
The top half of the lineup did well for the Blues, scoring all seven of the game's runs. Belfonte and Frazier both went 2-4 with two singles, a walk and two runs each. Detz had two singles and one run scored, and both Gavin and Elgie had 2 RBI's.
RHP Jason Freeman started the game for the Blues, pitching the first three innings. RHP Michael Holback, LHP Lars Liguori, and RHP Kyle Martin each pitched two innings of relief.
The Blues play again tomorrow, 7/16/11, against the Conejo Oaks at Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.
