
SLO BLUES 4 v. Santa Barbara Foresters 1

The San Luis Obispo Blues (28-11, 19-10 CCL) took down the Santa Barbara Foresters (29-10, 20-10 CCL) on Thursday night with a final score of 4-1. At one point during the game the Blues retired 17 straight batters.
The Foresters started the game by scoring an unearned run in the top of the 1st inning, but the Blues retaliated in the bottom of the inning by scoring two. Frazier led off with a single up the middle, advancing to second on a wild pitch. C Jo Jo Sharrar followed with an RBI single through the left side. 3B Dylan Gavin walked, bringing up 1B Zac Elgie, who hit an RBI single through the left side.
The score remained unchanged until the bottom of the 5th, when the Blues scored two more. Sharrar began with a double, advancing to third on an error. Gavin followed that with an RBI single to short, advancing to second on another error. SS Tanner Witt singled to short, advancing Gavin to third. When Witt stole second, Gavin stole home to increase their lead to 4-1. The Foresters loaded the bases in the top of the 9th, but were unable to score.
In his first start of the summer, Harmen Sidhu (4-0) pitched 8 full innings, striking out 8 batters and retiring the last 16 batters he faced. RHP Kyle Martin got his fourth save by pitching the 9th inning. Gavin led the Blues defensively with multiple spectacular plays at third base.
The Blues play again tomorrow against the OC Pioneers at Sinsheimer Stadium. Gates open at 5pm for a 6pm start time. Foul balls will be yours to keep courtesy of Bishop Hawk Realty - Janet Murrieta.
