SLO Blues Season Opener Tonight

The San Luis Obispo Blues open their season this Friday night, June 1st, 2012.  First Pitch is set for 6:00pm.  The Blues will host their SLO-rivals, the SLO Rattlers for a 3-game series.  Game two will be Saturday night at 6pm, with a Fireworks Show immediately following the game.  Game three is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 1pm.

The Blues look to defend their California Collegiate League (CCL) Championship, the first in team history.  The Blues shared the CCL Crown with the Santa Barbara Foresters, the eventual NBC World Champions.

Head Coach Chal Fanning enters his 10th season at the helm of the Blues, looking to add to his career win total with the Blues, which stands at 314 wins. His Coaching Staff includes to former Blues players, Batting Coach Brian Aguailar (SLO Blues 2003), and Assistant Coach Ryan Aguayo (SLO Blues 2008, 2009, & 2010).  This will be Aguailar's 3rd season as a Blues Coach, and it will be Aguayo's 2nd season as a coach. Aguailar will be a late arrival as Oral Roberts University continues to compete in the NCAA playoffs, where he is an Assistant Coach.  Assistant Coach Kyle Jury also returns for his 2nd season as an assistant coach.

GM Adam Stowe has worked hard over the off-season in preparation for the Best Blues season to date.  Adam, and his staff of interns have been busy getting everything ready, attending Little League Opening Days, Farmer's Market's, the Chamber Mixer, and the Health & Fitness Expo, and we would like to THANK everyone for their efforts.

We would also like to THANK ALL OF OUR GREAT SPONSORS!  Nearly 70 local companies sponsor the team, which allows us to provide first-class playing environment for our players, an excellent learning environment for our interns, and wholesome family entertainment for the SLO community.  We are grateful for everyones support

We look forward to tonight's Opener with great anticipation, and we can't wait to see our loyal fans once again, and make some new fans along the way as well.

If you are unable to attend games, you can still follow all of the Blues action via our website, facebook, and twitter.  We will also be streaming game broadcasts through U-Stream (Internet Radio w/ webcam),  via our website.

GO BLUES!!!
