The San Luis Obispo Blues (8-4, 5-4 CCL) lost the final game of their three game series on Sunday afternoon against the Santa Barbara Foresters (10-2, 6-2 CCL). The Foresters pulled ahead in the bottom of the 3rd inning and maintained their lead for the entire game, which ended with a score of 7-0.
Tom Barry (2-1) received the loss for the game after pitching five innings and striking out six batters. While pitching, he only allowed two hits and one unearned run.
Wade Hinkle, Dylan Gavin, and Tanner Witt had the Blues only three hits of the game. Hinkle singled through the left side in the top of the 4th, Gavin reached on a bunt to the pitcher, and Witt drove one down the right field line. Thomas Bernal was hit by two pitches, adding up to a total of 5 pitches that hit him throughout the series.
The next game for the Blues will be at Sinsheimer Stadium on Monday, 6/20/11, against the MLB Urban Academy. The first pitch will be thrown at 6:00pm. It will be a CCL game with the SLO Symphony as our charity partner.
